Is the tempered film really useful? Do you want to paste the tempered film on the mobile phone?

Whether to stick the film or not depends on the user's habits and experience. Mine went from 200 pieces to the later 2 pieces, and then to the later streaking. I slowly discovered that the protective effect of the film on the screen of the mobile phone is actually exaggerated. The film is more of a kind of psychological comfort and feelings... But whether the iPhone is covered with a film or not? I have a few small experiments and daily experience to talk about it.
Experiment 1: mobile phone film light transmittance test

16

Randomly bought 7 different mobile phone films from the market: 100 pieces of high-definition film from the counter, 30 pieces of high-definition film from the postal circuit, 10 pieces of high-definition film from the stall, 30 pieces of frosted film, 20 pieces of privacy film , 20 pieces of diamond film. In addition, a film that has been used for 4 months and has been scratched horribly, has been tested for light transmittance.
The transmittance of the experimental results is inconsistent with the label on the package. One of the anti-peep films marked with a light transmittance of 99%, the actual result is only 49.6%, which is worse than the old film that has been used for 4 months.
Experiment 2: Anti-strike test of mobile phone film

Many people say that the screen of the mobile phone with the film is not easy to break. I was also stunned when I watched the Rhino Shield anti-breaking mobile phone film developed by the University of Cambridge - the experiment of smashing the iPhone with a hammer. This mobile phone film called Rhino Shield is known as the strongest mobile phone film in the world.
As shown in its advertisement, I found two iphone4 screens, and put on the Rhino Shield super mobile phone film and the 10 yuan ordinary mobile phone film respectively. From a height of 10cm, drop a 255g ball. Result: Both screens were broken, but the screen with the Rhino Shield was cracked a little smaller. No matter how small the crack is, the screen has to be replaced! Reduce the difficulty and change to a 95g smaller steel ball for testing. A small ball fell from a height of 10cm, the screen with the ordinary film was broken, but the film of the rhino shield was not broken. Therefore, I think the effect of tempered glass film is not very obvious compared with ordinary film, but the price is 25 times more expensive, which is not very cost-effective.
Experiment 3: Wear resistance test of mobile phone screen

Now the mainstream mobile phone screens have been greatly improved in scratch resistance and fall resistance. From the Mohs hardness comparison table, the physical resistance of the mobile phone screen is already very high. Neither keys nor a knife can leave scratches on the screens of iphone4 and samsung s3. In the end, the use of sandpaper was very brutish, and the screen was scrapped.
It is not metals such as knives that can leave scratches on the screen, but the most dust and grit in the air. Although I don't think there is enough dust in the air to destroy the screen of my phone in minutes, the most scratches I usually make are in my pockets. This is usually not a big problem to pay attention to, and occasionally a few minor scratches are still within the acceptable range.

Four: mobile phone screen drop test

The simulated mobile phone fell from the pocket, about 70cm above the ground. I lost the iPhone and S3 with the screen facing down three times over and over again without breaking the screen. Continue to fall, fall from a height of 160cm, and the hand slipped when simulating a phone call. The iPhone was dropped 3 times and it was fine. The second time Samsung dropped the screen, it finally shattered.

In my experience with countless drops, the bezel is more likely to be damaged than the screen. So many people will put a case on the phone, or add a frame. However, there will be problems such as poor hand feel and signal impact.
Therefore, whether to stick the film or not to cover the shell should be judged according to different usage environments and different usage habits. Find a balance that you can accept in sacrificing the feel and visual experience to protect the phone.
